Video Depositions

A videotaped testimony in which lawyers or other agents ask a witness questions to determine the facts and mitigating circumstances of the case. Video depositions of a witness are taken under oath and outside of court. The video maybe used for litigation and in-court presentation.

Nothing has been proven more effective during pre-trial hearings or during the trial itself, than the presentation of visual evidence. A video deposition adds several significant elements to the process: personal appearance, demeanor, voice inflections, tone, reactions and knowledge are but a few of the things evident in a video deposition which are absent from the traditional approach. Any one of these elements can create a powerful impression to enhance your argument.

LVC provides a Certified Court Video Specialist who is prompt, professionally attired, and sensitive to the importance of the deposition process. We operate in accord with the Federal Rule of Civil Procedure 30(b)(4), which governs the legal video recording of depositions for admission in a court of law.

Each video deposition is recorded on a high quality digital video camera, with professional lighting, audio and backdrops. Footage can also be recorded and duplicated to DVD, VHS, mini-DV, digital video or any other format you may require.

Court Reporters are provided with an audio recording, with their choice of digital MP3 or WAV format. The original legal video recording is placed in a sealed envelope, along with the Objection and Colloquy form and a signed Certificate of Authenticity.

Synchronization

If your case requres, LVC utilizes the latest in voice-recognition technology to synchronize the transcript with the video presentation. Transcript and video synchronization allows the viewer (attorney, jury, judge) to view the video deposition and the transcript simultaneously on the same screen. The transcript scrolls at the same speed that the deponent testifies. Space is also provided to view deposition/trial exhibits.
